creating e-learning

I have a client wanting a photo editing course, and with them being a considerable distance away and a split group, e-learning seems to be the obvious choice. The only sticking point, so far, is to limit the amount of flicking back and forth from the e-learning and the photo-editing software. I'm quite happy with capturing screen videos for the course and am hoping this will reduce the switching of screens. Everyone should go out and buy 2 monitors!! which leads me to think maybe e-learning and software training aren't well suited
